On Thursday, October 7, all interested parties are invited to attend From Data to Action: Moving Forward on How Women Travel, an online event hosted by ITS America that will feature LADOT General Manager Seleta Reynolds and LA Metro Chief Executive Officer Stephanie Wiggins, who will discuss the relationship between gender and transportation access, methods to remove barriers to transportation, and how research is being used to fuel positive transportation policy.

This past Saturday, LADOT hosted a community event on San Vicente Boulevard to share information and gather feedback about the San Vicente Safety & Mobility Project. Assembly Bill 43 Passes in Legislature, Awaits Governor's Signature

Last week, California Assembly Bill (AB) 43, which would grant municipalities greater control in setting speed limits on city streets, was passed by both the state senate and state assembly. The bill has now advanced to the legislative Office of Engrossing and Enrolling, where it awaits the signature of Governor Gavin Newsom prior to implementation.

Last Thursday, LADOT joined Los Angeles City Council District 14 Councilmember Kevin de Leon, community members, and local schoolchildren to activate a new high-intensity activated crosswalk at the intersection of Eagle Rock Boulevard and Merton Avenue in Eagle Rock. LADOT Launches On-Demand Drop-Off Pilot for DASH

On Monday, August 23, LADOT Transit launched a pilot program that allows passengers to make “on-demand” stops on select DASH routes to better serve the needs of Angelenos. In addition to disembarking at regular stops, riders on affected routes are now able to request that buses make stops between regular, set stop locations. City Council Approves BlueLA Expansion

Last week, the Los Angeles City Council approved a motion to expand BlueLA, an electric vehicle car share program that operates in partnership with the city. Following implementation of the City Council motion, BlueLA’s vehicle fleet will expand to include 200 additional vehicles and 300 new vehicle chargers to provide improved car share access in Los Angeles.
