Play Streets in Panorama City

Over the weekend LADOT brought Play Streets to the Panorama City neighborhood. The Play Streets program enables the temporary closure of local streets to cars so that they can be transformed into spaces for play, learning, and fun for all ages. For a few hours over the weekend, young Angelenos were able to freely enjoy their neighborhood safely featuring the Box Of Play filled with fun activities like blocks, chalk, jump ropes, and much more.

Play Streets are a partnership between LADOT and community-based organizations as well as local elected offices. We want to thank the non-profit Kounkuey Design Initiative (KDI), Mission Hospital, the Los Angeles Neighborhood Initiative, El Proyecto del Barrio, the Fernandeño Tataviam Band of Mission Indians, and the Office of Council President Nury Martinez for making this event possible.

Riverside Drive Mobility Improvements On The Way.

Riverside Drive Mobility Improvements On The Way.

LADOT and StreetsLA are working with the Office of Councilmember Nithya Raman and community partners to make improvements to Riverside Drive. StreetsLA will first repave Riverside Drive between Los Feliz Boulevard and Glendale Blvd with work continuing through this weekend. Following street resurfacing, LADOT will repaint Riverside Drive and implement new features to improve safety, create protected space for people biking, and encourage safer speeds.

The Riverside Drive Mobility Improvements feature new protected bicycle lanes on both sides of Riverside Drive, signage, new pavement markings, repainted crosswalks, and changes to the roadway to improve safety and better connect users along this section of Riverside Drive. LADOT anticipates completion of striping and safety upgrades by approximately 3/18/22.

Please be aware of posted notifications from the City of Los Angeles regarding scheduled work in the right-of-way and temporary parking restrictions on specific days through mid-March. Days and times will be posted on signage placed on the corridor in advance.

Updated Masking Guidance

Updated Masking Guidance

On Friday, February 25th, Mayor Eric Garcetti announced that the city of Los Angeles was ending certain indoor mask restrictions for those fully vaccinated in alignment with Los Angeles County. We want to remind you that while various restaurants, bars, and other businesses may not require masks, masking remains mandatory on all forms of public transportation under federal FTA guidelines. We are committed to protecting riders and drivers on our transit services and will continue to provide updates on safety policies.
