LADOT serves as liaison to two citizen advisory committees, the Pedestrian Advisory Committee (PAC) and the Bicycle Advisory Committee (BAC). These committees advise the City of Los Angeles on important mobility issues that impact people walking and biking.
Traffic Enforcement Alternatives Advisory Task Force
The Traffic Enforcement Alternatives Project Advisory Task Force was established by Council action and overseen by LADOT (see Council File 20-0875). The Task Force members were selected through an application process open to the public in early 2022. The Chair and Vice chair shall be elected by the committee. The Advisory Task Force will convene monthly, starting September 2022 through Spring 2023.

Pedestrian Advisory Committee (PAC)
The PAC is a citizen advisory committee appointed by the Los Angeles City Council and Mayor. The purpose of the PAC is to advise the City of Los Angeles on important mobility issues that impact people walking. Council members and the Mayor appoint committee members. The Chair and Vice chair shall be elected by the committee. The PAC has met regularly since 1998. Its original bylaws can be found here.

Bicycle Advisory Committee (BAC)
The BAC is a citizen advisory committee appointed by the Los Angeles City Council and Mayor. The purpose of the BAC is to advise the City of Los Angeles on important mobility issues that impact people bicycling. Each Council Office may appoint one member to the committee, as well as an alternate (as of 2019). The Mayor may appoint four members to the committee. As of 2008, the BAC chair shall be elected by members. The BAC has met regularly since 1975. A complete history and the Charter of the BAC may be found here.
