LADOT Supports CD8 Food Pantry
In a time of uncertainty and fear, organizations in the Los Angeles area are partnering to provide food for those who need it. The L.A. County Federation of Labor, in collaboration with Labor Community Services, L.A. City Councilman Marqueece Harris-Dawson, and the L.A. Regional Food Bank, hosted a Drive-thru mobile food pantry, open to members of any union.
LADOT Special Traffic Operations and Traffic Officers coordinated with LAPD and CD8 to design and implement a traffic management plan that directed cars safely and efficiently through the Beverly Center Plaza. Cars entered on MLK boulevard between Marlton Avenue and Crenshaw boulevard, allowing recipients to drive through, pop their trunk and receive bags of food from union member volunteers. Over 3,000 food boxes were passed out to families.
