LADOT launched the Walk & Bike Count in 2019. The count is performed every odd year and allows us to better understand the current trends in active travel. LADOT uses the data from our bi-annual count in a number of ways, such as:

LADOT is currently engaging the community on a project to further improve safety in the East Hollywood area, on Hollywood Blvd between Gower St and Fountain Ave, especially for people who walk, bike, and take transit.

LADOT is building a transportation system that is affordable and treats people with dignity. Our Universal Basic Mobility pilot allows individuals to meet their needs no matter how they choose to travel.

LADOT collaborated with LA Walks, community members, transportation and planning practitioners, advocates to develop LADOT’s first Spanish glossary. The project includes over 100 transportation planning and community engagement terms to improve and standardize LADOT’s Spanish language communication, as well as empower Spanish speaking communities to advocate for transportation improvements.
