LADOT Response to Novel Coronavirus

Update on COVID-19 from LADOT

March 12, 2020

In accordance with guidelines issued by local, state, and federal health officials, LADOT has implemented measures to prevent the spread of the novel Coronavirus. While some of these measures will limit the interactions of department employees with members of the public, there will be no reduction in services LADOT provides or impacts to service delivery at this time.

Sanitation:

  • LADOT has ordered the daily disinfecting of vehicles throughout our transit fleet.

  • Taxi franchise holders are directed to clean their fleets daily.

  • LADOT recommends users of public transit follow these recommendations issued by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health.

Social Distancing:

  • LADOT will review all scheduled public meetings and postpone or convert to video conferencing any non-essential gatherings.

  • The department has instituted a voluntary telecommute option for employees whose duties can be performed remotely.

  • All non-essential, work-related travel has been canceled.

  • District engineering offices will be closed to the public until further notice. Other offices including parking adjudication and for-hire permitting will remain open.
