The City of Los Angeles supports the development of streets, sidewalks, and other public rights-of-way that are safe, comfortable, sustainable, and built to support greater functionality and livability for all Angelenos. To achieve this, the City is modernizing its approach to public realm design through a significant multi-phase effort that brings together multiple departments, a Community Project Advisory Committee (CPAC), and others to establish clear, unified guidelines aligned with its broader urban design and mobility vision.

LADOT is developing a plan to guide the city's transportation investments for the next five to twenty years and is seeking the input of communities across Los Angeles to ensure our projects match the priorities of Angelenos.

On-demand shuttle service is now serving SouthLA with all-electric, zero emission shuttles. All South LA rides are free for the first year until June 30, 2026! Hail a ride through the LAnow smartphone app.

Cityride provides Dial-A-Ride van rides, free DASH bus rides, and City of Los Angeles permitted taxi rides to registered individuals 65 or older and qualified persons with disabilities. New registrants living in the SouthLA are eligible to receive one year of free membership courtesy of a grant from the California Air Resources Board.

Los Angeles and five other California Municipalities have the opportunity to introduce Speed Safety Systems as a Pilot Program to address speeding and enhance safety on our roads.
