Deliveries are a part of everyday life in Los Angeles—and now, we’re making them cleaner! Over the last few months, we’ve expanded our Zero Emission Delivery Zones pilot to 30 additional locations, creating designated curbside spots for electric vans, cargo bikes, and other zero-emission delivery vehicles. By incentivizing zero-emission trips, these zones help us build a cleaner, more efficient transportation system and meet our City’s sustainable infrastructure goals.

This week LADOT announced the expansion of the LAnow service to South LA! This microtransit pilot program offers flexible, affordable, on-demand transportation to residents, visitors, and anyone visiting the South LA community. The new service area covers and connects key destinations, services, and neighborhood amenities like LA Trade-Technical College, Exposition Park, BMO Stadium, USC, the South LA Wetlands, Metro’s A and E lines, and 5 neighborhood DASH service routes.

As part of LADOT's efforts to develop and deliver school safety improvements, the department will be installing No Turn on Red restrictions at 20 locations in advance of the 25/26 academic year. Vehicles turning in intersections represent a disproportionate amount of fatal and severe injury collisions and are a particular threat to small children who are less visible to large vehicles. Thanks to the coordinated effort of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the California National Guard, the State Department of Transportation CalTrans, Los Angeles County, and City agencies like LADOT, the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) reopened just before the Memorial Day weekend!

While PCH has re-opened to the general public, speed limits in the impacted areas are reduced to 25 mph, and the Palisades neighborhood adjacent to PCH remains closed to non-residents and those without authorized access. See the article below for full details...

Last weekend I joined community members at CicLAmini as we launched engagement for our Pico Boulevard Safety and Mobility Plan Project to make one of Los Angeles’ key corridors safer and more accessible for everyone. This project will focus on a 3.5 mile stretch of Pico Boulevard between Crenshaw Boulevard and Figueroa Street where 76 severe traffic collisions including 11 pedestrian fatalities occurred between 2014 and 2023.
