Merry Christmas from LADOT
On behalf of the Los Angeles Department of Transportation, I want to wish a very Merry Christmas to all. At LADOT, we are deeply thankful for the communities we serve and the people who make this City move every day.
For many, the holidays include time spent with loved ones, seeing friends, and joining in community celebrations. That also means time spent on the move. To assist and support your travels, all LADOT Transit service will be free on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day! Check holiday service schedules at ladottransit.com.
Whether you’re driving, biking, walking, or taking transit, I encourage everyone to slow down, stay alert, and look out for one another. A little extra patience and care can go a long way in helping all of us get where we’re going safely. From all of us at LADOT, thank you for being part of this vibrant, resilient city. We wish you a joyful, safe, and peaceful holiday season, and we look forward to continuing to serve you in the year ahead.

Central Area Traffic Officers Host Toy Giveaway
Last week, Traffic Officers from LADOT’s Central Area Office spread holiday cheer with a Toy Giveaway at Christopher Dean Elementary School. Thanks to funds collected from the Central Area Office’s social club, 285 children were able to receive a toy. Several Traffic Officers volunteered on their day off to distribute the toys, and the children even enjoyed a visit from Santa Claus himself.
LADOT would like to thank these Traffic Officers for their contributions to the community, and Santa Claus for utilizing his aerial micromobility sled to stop by!

Stay Safe as Rain Continues
The City of Los Angeles is experiencing a powerful winter storm, bringing heavy rain and strong winds to the area. The storm is expected to continue tomorrow, Thursday, December 25, with a cool and showery pattern persisting through Saturday. Dangerous floods and mudslides may occur.
LADOT reminds all Angelenos to use caution when traveling during rain. If you must drive, drive slowly and use your headlights. Never drive through flooded roads. Treat any dark or flashing traffic lights as all-way stops. Report any downed trees or dark traffic lights to 311. Report any downed power lines to 911.
Holiday travel will continue to be impacted. Plan ahead and expect road and airport delays. Sign up for NotifyLA to receive the latest emergency alerts from the City.
