Shaping LA’s Mobility Future

LADOT has been out across Los Angeles connecting with residents to shape the City’s Mobility Action Plan, which will prioritize transportation infrastructure investments over the next five and 20 years. From November 2025 through March 2026, our team met people where they are—at parks, transit stations, and community events—gathering input on how we can build a safer, more accessible, and more connected transportation system.

Through this effort, we engaged more than 4,500 Angelenos at nearly 30 events across the city. We also partnered with...

CicLAvia Returns This Sunday

CicLAvia is back this weekend! We’ll be kicking off the 2026 season this Sunday, April 26, with a new route through West LA, running along Westwood Boulevard and Santa Monica Boulevard. From 9am - 4pm three miles of streets will be closed to cars and open for moving, exploring, and connecting with neighbors.

Open streets events like CicLAvia serve as a powerful reminder of what our City streets can be when we prioritize people and create spaces for community. Streets can bring people together and be more than just how we get from A to B....

UBM Expands with New Bike Wallet Pilot

LADOT’s Universal Basic Mobility (UBM) Pilot program seeks to eliminate the mobility barriers and reduce emissions in historically underserved neighborhoods. Since expanding the Mobility Wallet into Phase II and launching the South LA LAnow on demand shuttle, we’ve continued to make progress providing green transportation options through the UBM pilot!

The South Central Power Up (SCPU) program, launched in 2024, expands mobility options in South LA by providing long-term loans of e-bikes to participants at no cost. Now, LADOT and...

LADOT Celebrates Earth Month

April is Earth Month, an opportunity to reflect on the choices we make and the impact they have on our City and the planet. At LADOT, that work is happening every day. From the buses on our streets to the bike lanes in our neighborhoods, we’re focused on making it easier for Angelenos to move in cleaner, greener, more connected ways.

One of LADOT’s biggest commitments is transitioning our entire transit fleet to zero emission vehicles by 2028. We’ve already rolled out more than 160 zero emission DASH buses–more than half of our fleet–...

Bringing Speed Safety Systems to LA

Last year, 290 people died in car crashes in the City of Los Angeles, and one in five fatal crashes is attributed to speeding. LADOT remains committed to addressing these preventable crashes through a safe systems approach that incorporates engineering, education, and enforcement for safety related traffic violations like speeding.

As we continue to advance engineering and education efforts, I look forward to introducing LADOT’s speed safety systems pilot to advance our collective goal of making streets safer for all users. Speed...

LADOT Prepares for Dodgers Home Opener

Dodger baseball is back! Tomorrow evening, the two-time defending World Series Champions Los Angeles Dodgers will take on the Arizona Diamondbacks in Elysian Park. For this and every home game this season, our LADOT teams are ready to make sure fans and visitors can get to the game safely while minimizing traffic impacts on the rest of the Echo Park neighborhood.

Go Metro to the game and take the Dodger Stadium Express! Each home game, LADOT sets up a dedicated bus lane on Sunset Boulevard to get riders to the game as quickly and...

LADOT Breaks Ground on the Chandler Bicycle Connection

LADOT recently joined Council District 2, the Bureau of Engineering, and Metro to break ground on the Chandler Bike Connection! The Chandler Bike Connection will upgrade the existing bicycle lanes on Chandler Boulevard to protected lanes with bollards and curb stops for a riding experience that is safer and more comfortable for riders of all ages and abilities.

When complete, the Chandler Bike Connection will close the three mile gap between the Chandler and the Metro G Line Bike Paths–creating a continuous, safe,...

LADOT Partners with Transit App

I’m excited to announce that Transit is now the official app of LADOT Transit! The Transit app makes it easy for users to navigate public transportation in Los Angeles and cities around the world with multi-modal trip planning, nearby lines, and real time arrivals.

With this partnership, LADOT riders will have access to a Transit Royale membership–usually $25 a year–completely free of charge. With Royale memberships, riders can access unlimited departure schedules, additional trip planning options, and more. You’ll be able to see both...

LADOT Celebrates Women's History Month

March is Women’s History Month, and LADOT is excited to celebrate and honor women whose courage, determination, and hard work have made Los Angeles what it is today.

Beyond recognizing women’s contributions to date, Women’s History Month is also an opportunity to focus on our responsibility to build a transportation system that serves all Angelenos. Women often have unique transportation needs and barriers to accessing mobility options. According to Transportation for America, women are less likely than men to follow a typical 9-5...

Announcing LADOT's RIDER Study

Over the last few years we have seen a dramatic shift in how people move around our City. The increase in remote work following the COVID-19 pandemic and the rise in new travel modes mean our transit systems must adapt to changing travel patterns.

At LADOT, we’re committed to ensuring our transit system works for all riders. That’s why we recently launched the Real Input Driving Everyday Routes (RIDER) Study – to learn how you get around today. Our goal is to evaluate how well our current transit services–including DASH neighborhood buses...
