LADOT Launches Sunset East Phase 2
Thank you to those who joined LADOT at our open house community events for the Sunset East Safety & Mobility Project! LADOT is planning improvements along Sunset Boulevard and Cesar Chavez Avenue between Douglas Street and Alameda Street, enhancing safety and comfort for all users. Last month, over 150 community members joined us in person and virtually to share valuable feedback on the proposed improvements, which builds on input we heard earlier this year and will help further refine the corridor design.
During these discussions, we received input on a wide range of topics, including support for safer walking, biking, and transit. We also heard concerns about traffic and parking availability, particularly during major events at Dodger Stadium, and about the importance of commercial loading and small business access. These workshops marked the beginning of the second phase of our outreach process, during which LADOT will continue to engage the community and local stakeholders to incorporate feedback into the final design. Phase 2 will conclude in Spring of 2027 when LADOT presents a final design based on the feedback received.
If you missed these open houses, you can still provide feedback as LADOT continues to develop the design for Sunset East. Take the Sunset project survey now to view the proposed Sunset East design and share your thoughts. You can also access PDFs of the presentation slides and in person open house boards, or view a recording of the virtual open house.
We look forward to hearing from you!
