City of Los Angeles Hosts CoMotion LA This Week
The City of Los Angeles is hosting the CoMotion LA conference this week from November 16th - 18th, 2021. CoMotion LA is a three-day immersive event with interactive talks, demonstrations, and workshops for global mobility leaders. Thousands of attendees from the public and private sectors are gathering here to shape the emerging mobility landscape in what is being called the "Mobility Revolution".
CoMotion LA offers the opportunity for cooperation between cities and their partners to create mobility systems that will move our global society forward. The Mobility Revolution is inclusive of all types of mobility, and will impact how we move people and goods by air, land, and sea. LADOT is participating deeply in the conference to promote a more innovative, inclusive, and engaging public sector in order to ensure that all will benefit from the Mobility Revolution, especially as we recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.

New Priority Bus Lanes Installed Along Olive St and Grand Ave
LADOT, in collaboration with Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro), finalized the installation of bus priority lanes this past weekend on northbound Olive Street between 2nd Street and Pico and southbound Grand Avenue, between Hope Place and Pico Boulevard.
“Our partnership with Metro is transforming how people move through Downtown LA and beyond,” said LADOT General Manager Seleta Reynolds. “Bus lanes improve service times and the experience of taking public transit and allow us to move more people, more quickly to improve the quality of life for people who live, visit, and work in and around these corridors.”
LADOT installed new bus lane signage and street striping to indicate bus priority lanes for drivers. The new bus priority lanes in Downtown Los Angeles help improve bus traffic flow for the over 60 buses per hour (on average) that commute through each of these corridors during peak hours.
This joint project was installed to support Metro’s NextGen Bus Plan, a new bus plan developed to implement a new, more efficient bus system in Los Angeles County that is fast, frequent, reliable, and accessible
