LADOT Honors Those Who Serve This Veterans Day

LADOT Honors Those Who Serve This Veterans Day

Monday is Veterans Day, when we come together as a nation to honor the brave men and women who have served in our country’s armed forces. Their dedication, sacrifice, and commitment to protecting our nation should serve as an inspiration to all. Veterans embody values such as service, resilience, and unity—qualities that strengthen Los Angeles every day.

For many Veterans, service is a lifelong calling. LADOT proudly employs 40 veteran and active reserve duty members who either have or continue to wear this nation’s uniform. We are especially grateful for their continued service as they work to improve the lives of Angelenos. Whether it's through public safety, transportation, or community programs, they bring the same dedication to their roles that they once brought to the military.

As we commemorate this holiday visiting friends and navigating the roads and neighborhoods of this great city, let’s take a moment to reflect on the sacrifices made by those who have served. We honor their service by continuing the work of building a free, fair, and just Los Angeles that is inclusive of everyone regardless of background, belief, or ability.

  Celebrates Dodgers Championship Parade

Los Angeles Celebrates Dodgers World Series Victory at Championship Parade

For the first time in 36 years, Angelenos took the streets in celebration of a Dodgers World Series victory at Friday’s Dodgers Championship Parade!

After the Dodgers defeated the Yankees last Wednesday night, LADOT teams sprung into action to coordinate the parade route. Special Traffic Operations teams began closing roads downtown as early as 4am. As thousands of fans arrived to celebrate, 100 Traffic Officers were on hand to ensure road closures were respected and traffic was rerouted safely and efficiently.

Thanks to all of our LADOT teams for their hard work on a tight turnaround to give Angelenos a memorable day of celebration and joy–and thanks to the Los Angeles Dodgers for making our whole city proud!
