Active Play Streets Event in Boyle Heights
This weekend, LADOT supported the coordination and set up for an Active Play Streets event in Boyle Heights. Play Streets events offer a fun and low-cost way for our communities to transform streets into a place for all ages to play.
The Play Streets program is relaunching after its temporary suspension during the pandemic. In the weeks and months ahead, LADOT will exploring processes and partnerships in order to establish a new, more permanent city-wide program for Los Angeles.
By engaging play "experts", also known as the children and families of LA communities, LADOT is designing a program that is uniquely-LA. These "test" events will focus on communities of the City of Los Angeles that are in dire need of park space.
Stay tuned for more information in 2022 as we look forward to bringing play streets to a community near you.
