Happy Thanksgiving from LADOT!
Happy Thanksgiving! Thanksgiving travel is notoriously hectic, so whether you're heading across town, out of town, or just a few blocks over, make a plan in advance so you get to your destination safely and on time! Check public transportation routes and let Metro do the driving for you if you can, to enjoy the holiday stress free as we take you to and from your destination. If you do drive, give yourself extra time to get where you’re going, stay alert, and remember the kindness, patience, and gratitude this holiday is all about!
This Thanksgiving, LADOT will be out there with you. Our team is working hard to ensure that signals are functioning smoothly, parking regulations are clear (you can check which parking regulations are enforced on holidays here), and streets are safe for all Angelenos, whether driving, biking, or walking.
I would also like to take this opportunity to express my personal gratitude to LADOT staff and the people of Los Angeles whom we have the privilege to serve. However you’re celebrating, know that LADOT is here to support you on the road. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, Los Angeles - gobble gobble!
New EV Chargers at Junipero Serra Library
New Electric Vehicle (EV) chargers are installed and ready to use at the Junipero Serra Library in South LA. As part of LADOT’s Universal Basic Mobility (UBM) pilot program, 16 total chargers are being installed at libraries across South LA. Installation has been completed at Hyde Park Miriam Matthews Library, with construction soon to begin at Vernon and Ascot libraries.
Once activated, these chargers will be free to use through at least March 2026. These accessible, affordable EV chargers will ensure that South LA is not left behind in the clean energy and electrification transition.
