LAnow will resume operation on November 1
LADOT Transit is resuming operation of the LAnow program for on-demand, shared-ride, and micro-transit service serving the Del Rey, Venice, Mar Vista, and Palms Neighborhoods of the City of Los Angeles. LAnow carried more than 10,000 riders prior to the suspension of service in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. LADOT Transit used the time during the suspension of service to upgrade and replace its LAnow smartphone application that allows riders to book and pay for trips.
The LAnow program services will resume on Monday, November 1, 2021, and will be operating Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Riders can access the service by using the upgraded LAnow smartphone application. Adults and children over five years of age ride for $1.50 one-way, seniors ride for 75 cents, and children under four years of age ride for free. To celebrate the LAnow resumption of service, all trips will be free during the month of November.
Former riders should install the new application, either from Apple’s App Store or Google Play, before deleting the old LAnow application from their phones. Former riders with balances on their old LAnow accounts will be able to have those funds transferred to their new accounts by calling 818-493-5211 Monday through Friday between the hours of 6:00 AM and 2:30 PM once they download the new LAnow application.

L.A. Al Fresco Dining program earns LABC Community Impact Award
The L.A. Al Fresco Dining program was awarded the LABC Community Impact Award for being an important lifeline program that provides crucial support to businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic. On May 29, 2020, Mayor Garcetti launched the first phase of the Al Fresco Dining program to support outdoor dining opportunities for restaurants impacted by the COVID-19 crisis, in collaboration with the L.A. County Department of Public Health, allowing dine-in services at restaurants across L.A. More than half of all resources and applications approved for the outdoor dining program were earmarked for BIPOC-owned (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) businesses and for those located in areas that suffered the greatest job losses due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The L.A. Al Fresco Dining program began as a temporary City of L.A. support service and has recently undergone efforts to make the program a permanent part of L.A.’s streetscape.
LADOT supports the Al Fresco Dining program in providing L.A. restaurants and bars impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic with outdoor dining that allows these businesses to serve customers, all while practicing safe social distancing measures. Through the Al Fresco Dining program, eligible restaurants and bars can apply to expand dining areas into the street, sidewalk, and private lots adjacent to the applicant's establishment. Additionally, the City of L.A. may provide planters, barricades, and umbrellas for outdoor dining businesses to use in newly permitted spaces.

Western Ave between Martin Luther King Blvd and Century is a priority for safety improvements due to the high number of fatal and severe injury crashes, many of which affected people walking or biking.
