Help Shape the Future of Broadway in South LA
Broadway has always been one of Los Angeles’ most important streets, a place full of history that provides a key connection from South LA neighborhoods to Downtown destinations. Now, LADOT, in partnership with Metro, is looking to build on that legacy by improving safety and mobility along a 3.5-mile stretch of South Broadway from Manchester Avenue to Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
LADOT has just launched a community engagement effort to solicit input on upgrades that make traveling safer and more comfortable for everyone, whether you walk, bike, take transit, or drive. Improvements being considered include new bus priority lanes, safer crosswalks and intersections, traffic calming measures, bike connections to the Rail-to-Rail path on Slauson Boulevard, and other key safety features to support the community.
We want your input to help shape these changes. Take a few minutes to complete our short survey and share your thoughts. Your feedback will directly guide the future of Broadway, and you’ll also have a chance to win a $50 gift card for participating! You can find more info on the project by visiting the Broadway project website.

Celebrating Safety Improvements at Hobart Schools
Last week, LADOT joined with Hobart Schools to celebrate the new quick build construction on Serrano Avenue. In early August, LADOT implemented new safety treatments on Serrano between Olympic Blvd and San Marino St to improve the flow of traffic and make the street safer for students, staff, and visitors. Serrano was converted into a one-way northbound street with a dedicated drop-off and pick-up lane.
Students, family, and the community enjoyed prizes, art projects, and a scavenger hunt, as well as the opportunity to share their feedback on the new street configuration. Thanks to all who came out and to Hobart Schools for hosting the event!
