LADOT Partners with Transit App
I’m excited to announce that Transit is now the official app of LADOT Transit! The Transit app makes it easy for users to navigate public transportation in Los Angeles and cities around the world with multi-modal trip planning, nearby lines, and real time arrivals.
With this partnership, LADOT riders will have access to a Transit Royale membership–usually $25 a year–completely free of charge. With Royale memberships, riders can access unlimited departure schedules, additional trip planning options, and more. You’ll be able to see both the DASH buses arriving in five minutes and the ones arriving in five days, making it easier to plan your commutes, errands, Griffith Observatory trips, and more.
If you are one of the 40,000 users who have used the Transit app recently to look up DASH arrival times or find a Commuter Express route near you, you’ll automatically receive this upgrade in the Transit app. If you’d like to become eligible, download the Transit app and interact with any LADOT service.
This partnership is part of LADOT’s ongoing efforts to improve the experience of our transit riders. We hope this upgrade will make getting around the City easier, smoother, and more accessible.

LADOT Breaks Ground on Chandler Bike Connection
Last week, LADOT, Council District 2, the Bureau of Engineering, and community partners gathered to celebrate the groundbreaking of the Chandler Bicycle Connection. This project will close a three mile gap between the G Line Bike Path and the Chandler Bike Path, creating a 21 mile low-stress bikeway from Chatsworth to Burbank. When complete, cyclists of all ages and abilities will have a comfortable connection to the Metro B and G Lines as well as the many schools, businesses, and community resources along the route.
In addition to upgrading existing lanes to protected bike lanes, this project will add safer crossings, bike signals, access improvements and amenities like lighting, trees, benches, ramps, and recreation features.
The Chandler Bike Connection will be open for residents and visitors in time for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Thanks to our City partners for their collaboration on this transformative project.

Join us for Virtual and In-Person Town Halls on the Westside
Please join LADOT at our upcoming open houses where we will share what we heard from the community, next steps for Ohio Avenue, and our proposed design for Westwood Boulevard!
This past fall, LADOT engaged with more than 7,500 community members through pop-ups, surveys, and events to understand priorities for Ohio Avenue and Westwood Boulevard. Participants overwhelmingly emphasized the need for added safety measures including safer crossings, dedicated space for cyclists, and calmer traffic.
These open houses will provide the community with an opportunity to share additional thoughts that will guide the final design of the safety and mobility improvements.
