Stay Cool This Summer.
It is officially summer! Summer in LA means beach days, baseball games, and spending time with friends and family–but it also means rising temperatures. Libraries, recreation centers, and swimming pools are great places to beat the summer heat. Cool Spots LA shows Angelenos where they can go to cool off. Many of these locations are served by LADOT Transit’s neighborhood DASH routes, and our buses are air conditioned to keep you comfortable while you travel.
Now is the time to prepare for hotter days ahead! The Los Angeles Regional Collaborative for Climate Action and Sustainability has put together a collection of Extreme Heat Resources. Angelenos can visit their website to learn the signs and symptoms of heat stroke and heat exhaustion, as well as tips for keeping cool. And don’t forget to sign up for NotifyLA to receive up-to-date information about dangerous weather.
Have fun and stay safe this summer!

Mobility Action Plan Enters Phase 2
This past winter, LADOT completed the first phase of engagement of the Mobility Action Plan (MAP), The MAP will produce both short- and long-term transportation investment plans to help the City prioritize projects, coordinate resources, and deliver real improvements. Our team connected with over 3,000 Angelenos through a digital survey and at more than 20 community events. LADOT also partnered with five locally trusted organizations to reach LA’s communities, ensuring the transportation priorities represented in the MAP are grounded in what residents truly want.
Across the City, residents shared ongoing barriers caused by a lack of infrastructure and road safety. Angelenos want investments to improve transit services, to build bike lanes, and to make the City more pedestrian-friendly with shade, better sidewalks, and more crosswalks.
In Phase 2 of the MAP, LADOT will finalize the Mobility Action Plan, including the 5-Year Plan, 20-Year Transportation Strategy, and recommendations. Later in 2026, LADOT will work with City partners so the MAP can help guide transportation priorities.
