Resuming Dash Fares

LADOT is Resuming DASH Fares

This Saturday, February 1st, LADOT will resume fare collection on DASH buses. This will support the City’s ongoing efforts to deliver safe, reliable, and top-quality transit services to neighborhoods across Los Angeles.

With fares at 50 just cents per ride (35 cents with a TAP card)—and only 25 cents for seniors, medicare recipients, and riders with disabilities (15 cents with a TAP card), DASH remains one of the most affordable ways to get around town. For those who rely on DASH regularly, monthly passes are available at $18, or $9 for reduced-fare riders. We are also keeping our popular ride free options such as Dash-to-class for students and participants in Metro’s LIFE program. See full list of fare options on our Transit website. Fares will resume for all routes with the exception of DASH Sylmar. Due to the emergency situation in Sylmar, DASH Sylmar will not charge fares until further notice.

LADOT has made significant enhancements to our transit services over the past several years, including increased service frequencies, new and expanded routes in North Hollywood and Sylmar, and investments in electric buses for cleaner air that will benefit all Angelenos. Revenues from the reinstated fares will enable LADOT to continue these improvements, as well as support recent wage increases for our drivers and safety improvements on our service.

As we return to pre-pandemic fare collection, LADOT is committed to making the transition as smooth as possible, and to keeping DASH accessible, dependable, and welcoming for all riders.

DASH Fares to Resume Feb 1

Fare collection will resume on LADOT’s DASH bus services beginning Saturday, February 1, 2025. The reinstated fare will remain at the pre-pandemic rate of 50¢ cash or 35¢ if paying by TAP card.

All previous LADOT fare programs offering free rides on DASH will resume alongside the reinstatement of fares. Eligible riders include those with a 31-day LADOT Pass, Cityride members, LIFE Program participants, U-PASS holders, Metrolink ticket holders, and EZ Transit Pass holders.

Additionally, LADOT is reinstating its popular DASH to Class program, providing free rides to students with a valid Metro Student Reduced Fare Pass or GoPass.

If you’re looking for a way to support our communities during this emergency, the City has compiled the following organizations seeking financial support:

California Community Foundation Wildfire Recovery Fund: Contributions will go toward the most impacted and the most vulnerable Angelenos who can be overlooked in traditional relief efforts. The fund complements immediate relief and addresses the long-term recovery needs of neighborhoods.

Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation: Hundreds of Los Angeles Firefighters are on the ground around the clock responding to the wildfires. Support LA’s brave firefighters who save lives, protect our homes, and keep our communities safe.
