Announcing LADOT Rider Study

Announcing LADOT's RIDER Study

Over the last few years we have seen a dramatic shift in how people move around our City. The increase in remote work following the COVID-19 pandemic and the rise in new travel modes mean our transit systems must adapt to changing travel patterns.

At LADOT, we’re committed to ensuring our transit system works for all riders. That’s why we recently launched the Real Input Driving Everyday Routes (RIDER) Study – to learn how you get around today. Our goal is to evaluate how well our current transit services–including DASH neighborhood buses, Commuter Express regional buses, LAnow microtransit, and Cityride Dial-a-Ride services for seniors and persons with disabilities–meet the needs of the communities we serve.

With the information from the RIDER Study, we’ll be able to optimize our transit routes, improve arrival and travel times, and ensure our City is prepared for upcoming events like the World Cup and the 2028 Games.

But first, we need your help! Take the RIDER survey before Sunday, March 15 to share your feedback and enter to win a $50 VISA gift card. Plus, keep an eye out for our outreach teams at a DASH bus stop or community event near you. We look forward to hearing from you!

Town Halls on the Westside

Join us for Virtual and In-Person Town Halls on the Westside

Please join LADOT at our upcoming open houses where we will share what we heard from the community, next steps for Ohio Avenue, and our proposed design for Westwood Boulevard!

This past fall, LADOT engaged with more than 7,500 community members through pop-ups, surveys, and events to understand priorities for Ohio Avenue and Westwood Boulevard. Participants overwhelmingly emphasized the need for added safety measures including safer crossings, dedicated space for cyclists, and calmer traffic.

These open houses will provide the community with an opportunity to share additional thoughts that will guide the final design of the safety and mobility improvements. Children are welcome to join and refreshments will be served. Spanish and Mandarin interpretation will be provided upon request.

Construction Advisory Zoo Drive

Construction Advisory: Zoo Drive

This week, LADOT began construction on improvements to Zoo Drive between Rattlesnake Trailhead and Western Heritage Way. The project will improve road safety and bicycle connectivity on Zoo Drive by installing a combination of standard painted bike lanes (Class II) and protected bike lanes with vertical bollards (Class IV). These improvements will support the Department of Recreation and Parks Safety and Active Transportation Project in Griffith Park.

Construction for this phase of work, which involves removal of existing striping and installation of new painted striping, signage and vertical bollards, is scheduled to conclude by approximately March 1, 2026. LADOT anticipates limited lane closures during the week of February 24 with one travel lane in each direction maintained at all times. During this period, road users should be aware of work taking place and mindful of construction signage in the area.
