Commute to the Super Bowl Experience and Super Bowl LVI using Transit

The Superbowl is coming to Los Angeles! LADOT and ur partners at Metro have got you covered for the most convenient and cost-effective ways to access the upcoming Super Bowl LVI activities in both downtown Los Angeles and Inglewood. We are working in partnership with the Los Angeles Super Bowl Host Committee on a comprehensive plan to get fans to the Super Bowl LVI activities.

For a regular commute using the major Metro lines, LA Convention Center can be accessed using Downtown DASH as well as Metro's A Line (Blue) train, E Line (Expo) train, and J Line (Silver) bus to arrive at Pico Station, from there the Convention Center is just one block away.

Parking at the SoFi Stadium for game day, Sunday, February 13 will be extremely limited. Due to this, LADOT and Metro will be providing free bus shuttle services as part of a broader shuttle service plan along with park and ride shuttle options, staffed taxi, and rideshare assigned sections too.

Metro will be running the free bus shuttle service between the C Line (Green) Hawthorne/Lennox Station and the stadium on game day. Metro shuttle buses will run every five to eight minutes from Hawthorne/Lennox Station beginning at 10:45 a.m. to the Super Bowl, with player introductions and national anthem at 3 p.m. Buses will operate frequently for 90 minutes after the game ends. Shuttle buses are free. Although, regular transit fares will apply on all other Metro buses and trains.

LADOT AAHM Community Partner Highlight: Kiana Stepney

This week, we continue to celebrate African American Heritage Month by highlighting one of our community partners. Kiana Stepney is a Watts Community Advocate who partnered with LADOT to conduct outreach as part of the department's Changing Lanes Gender Equity Study to ensure that the transportation needs of the Watts community were represented in the report.

Through Kiana's outreach efforts, our report identified areas where our transit network can better support women and prioritize equity in transportation planning and design. Check out Kiana's remarks at LADOT's press conference unveiling the Changing Lanes report.

Slow Yosemite Completed

Safety improvements have been completed for the Slow Yosemite Project. Repaving, new pavement markings including bike lanes, and freshly update crosswalks are now installed between Townsend and Figueroa Ave.

LADOT Traffic Enforcement Study Advisory Task Force

The City is looking for applicants interested in improving traffic safety in Los Angeles. LADOT is developing a Community Advisory Task Force that will study and recommend new policies for traffic enforcement alternatives to armed enforcement. We are looking for applicants with expertise and lived experience in areas of traffic safety, public health, racial equity, mental health, public safety, and criminal justice. Selected members will receive a modest stipend for the work they do such as attending meetings and working with the consultant on the study. The final day to submit an application is Feb 25, 2022. Planning for Stress-Free Connections in Central LA: Neighborhood Network Design Lab and Tree Adoption

Join LADOT along with our community partners on February 12, 2022, for a public workshop Central LA Neighborhood Network Design Lab and Tree Adoption. The workshop is part of our Planning For Stress-Free Connections.

During this workshop, Angelenos will help to discover ideas for how to better design streets in South L.A. so that they are safer, more comfortable, and stress-free for walking and biking. The event will follow CDC guidance and all participants are required to wear a mask. Workshop participants that are LA city residents will also be eligible to receive a free fruit or shade tree* and free lunch!

The workshop will be from 11 am to 1 pm and located at Los Angeles City College, 855 N. Vermont Avenue (Metro Vermont Station Court between MLK Library and SciTech at Vermont Avenue and Willow Brook Avenue)

Central LA Network Design Lab and Tree Adoption

LADOT in partnership with the Los Angeles Neighborhood Initiative (LANI) and MIG will be hosting a public workshop to identify potential street design solutions. The workshop will be on Saturday, February 12th, from 11AM to 1PM at the Los Angeles City College

Ventura-Cahuenga Specific Plan

Now's the time to give your feedback. City Planning is asking for your help to confirm drafts created for the Specific Plan Amendment and your input on what you would like to see in the Ventura-Cahuenga Corridor. Take the surveys to help take a closer look at the sidewalks and make note of anything that can prevent safe travel along the area. Specific Plan Amendment

710 Mobility Hub Plan

The purpose of this plan is to improve mobility and quality of life in the heavily congested region surrounding the northern end of the 710 Freeway. Give your feedback in this survey to help identify other locations that will benefit from future Mobility Hub that will offer more transportation options for the community.
