A Message from LADOT General Manager Seleta Reynolds
LADOT stands firmly against racism, misogyny, violence, and discrimination in all its forms. The mass shooting we saw in Atlanta that took the lives of eight innocent people, including six Asian women, is sadly only the latest incident in what has been a record-breaking year for hate crimes against the Asian American and Pacific Islander community in our country. We denounce these heinous acts and stand in solidarity with our AAPI colleagues and friends, their families, and the people we serve who are directly…
LADOT Cityride, which provides on-demand transportation to eligible seniors and individuals with accessibility needs, is offering “Express Lane” service to three COVID-19 vaccination sites in the Los Angeles area starting today. The Express Lane service will pick up Cityride members who have a scheduled vaccination appointment on request and provide transportation directly to the front of the line. The vehicle will wait while the individual receives their vaccination and return them to…
Last week, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti announced the opening of the city’s newest vaccination site at the University of Southern California (USC). Located at the corner of Exposition Boulevard and Figueroa Street next to USC’s University Park campus, the site provides the capacity to vaccinate up to 5,000 people a day.
To expand access to the site and ensure Angelenos without a car can still get vaccinated, the city and the Mayor’s Fund for Los Angeles have partnered with Uber on a new initiative to provide 15,000 free rides —…
March marks the commemoration of Women's History Month. In the coming weeks, LADOT will highlight women who have made significant contributions to the field of transportation in Los Angeles and beyond in both in our contemporary time and throughout the history of our city.

Last week, the City of Los Angeles announced that AIM Brands LLC — a distributor of COVID-19 solution products such as masks, gloves, sanitizer, tests, and air purifiers — has collaborated with the city and the C19 Coalition to donate 5 million three-ply masks to directly benefit Angelenos as they engage in public activities, with the first distribution installment aiding passengers who utilize LADOT Transit’s transportation systems. LADOT Transit currently offers masks to passengers free of charge when using its transit…

This week, we are spotlighting influential African Americans in transportation who…
LADOT is pleased to announce the release of the LADOT Strategic Plan Update 2021 - 2023, a comprehensive document that will guide and shape our department’s work over the next several years.
Since the launch of its 2018 Strategic Plan, LADOT accomplished 82 percent of the goals and actions by the end of 2020. For most of 2020, we focused on pandemic-related response programs that provided a critical lifeline to Angelenos. While this constrained our priorities outlined in the 2018-2020 Strategic Plan, we are proud of our measurable,…
Today, LADOT released our new Strategic Plan for 2021 - 2023! Like the Strategic Plan that preceded it, this document will guide our department's goals and operations for the next three years. Unlike that plan (and the one before that), this one came together during a time of profound disruption.
We thank the 82 members of our Strategic Plan Working Group, the 17 members of our Racial Equity Core Team, and nearly 300 other staff who provided input on plan development, especially in the midst of everything else we have asked our essential workers and staff to do.
Since the…
