Update on the Latest Venice Boulevard Safety and Mobility Project Progress

We are making progress on the new safety and mobility improvements on Venice Blvd. StreetsLA has repaired and refreshed the pavement on Venice Boulevard, and the LADOT crew is out on the streets to complete the rest of the mobility improvements. The United States Department of Transportation (USDOT) awarded the Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT) $2 million through the Strengthening Mobility and Revolutionizing Transportation (SMART) grant program. LADOT Traffic Officers Support Efforts to Provide Resources For Students and Families Impacted by LAUSD School Closures

With LAUSD schools closed this week, LADOT joined other city departments to mobilize resources for students and families impacted by the strike. Yesterday the Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks opened up 21 recreation centers to serve as Grab & Go Locations as part of the LAUSD food distribution program. Sylmar Community Celebrates New Decorated Crosswalks

This week we joined community partners in Sylmar to celebrate the unveiling of newly decorated crosswalks along San Fernando Road. On Monday a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held to commemorate the many months of hard work and planning to complete this project.

Memorial Sign Unveiling for Monique Muñoz

On Monday LADOT and Councilwoman Katy Yaroslavsky joined with family and friends to unveil a memorial sign in remembrance of Monique Munoz whose life was taken by a dangerous act of speeding on our streets and to serve as a reminder to Los Angeles of the dangers of speeding. Monique's family requested the sign be placed as a permanent memorial to her life and as a reminder to drivers to slow down and drive responsibly.
