LADOT Launches Mobility Action Plan
The way the City of Los Angeles plans and invests in our transportation system has far reaching impacts. Decisions we make today impact the safety of our roads, the long-term health of communities, and the sustainability and resilience of our city as a whole.
That is why LADOT wants to hear your input on how the department should prioritize transportation projects as it develops the Mobility Action Plan (MAP). The MAP builds off the Mobility Plan 2035 to guide how LA invests in streets, transit, biking, and walking for the next 5–20 years. Community input, data, and collaboration are integral to this process to help us reimagine what mobility can look like in our city and prioritize the most critical needs.
We know every neighborhood has its own transportation needs and barriers, which is why it’s important for LADOT to hear from as many people as possible across the city. In order to address historic inequities, we will focus additional outreach efforts on ensuring the plan includes the input from communities that face economic, racial, and environmental injustice.
Help LADOT develop a plan that supports a more connected and equitable city. Learn about the MAP and share your feedback.

LADOT Launches Mobility Action Plan
The City of Los Angeles is developing its first Mobility Action Plan (MAP), which will guide how LA invests in streets, sidewalks, transit, biking, and walking. The MAP will produce two transportation investment plans to help the City prioritize projects and coordinate resources: a five-year plan with funded projects to begin in 2028, and a 20-year plan that will identify long-range capital needs.
We are currently seeking input from Angelenos to ensure that these improvements reflect the needs of our communities. By sharing your experiences and priorities, you’ll help us plan for a safer, more accessible, and connected transportation system for everyone.

LADOT Supports Dodgers Championship Parade
For the second year in a row, Angelenos took to the streets to celebrate a Dodgers World Series Victory! After Saturday’s exciting victory against the Blue Jays, our LADOT teams activated to ensure Monday’s parade would be a seamless and joyful celebration for all. Our Special Traffic Operations team prepared traffic management plans, including street closures and detours to ensure the safety of attendees.
Crews worked through the night to prepare for closures. During the parade, LADOT deployed over 125 traffic officers to manage the flow of traffic around the parade and Dodger Stadium. Our ATSAC teams monitored congestion at key intersections, adjusting signals as needed in response to changing traffic conditions. Finally, LADOT joined the City’s Emergency Operations Center to coordinate operations with other City departments during the parade.
An estimated 250,000 Dodgers fans came out to the Championship Parade to thank the team for another incredible season. Thanks to our LADOT staff for their hard work providing Angelenos with a much-deserved day of celebration!

New Left Turn Signal at 42nd St and Broadway
Last week, LADOT installed and activated new left turn phasings for the traffic signal at the intersection of 42nd St & Broadway in Historic South Central. This new signal will provide cars a dedicated light to turn left onto 42nd St from Broadway, protecting pedestrians crossing the street. By making it easier and safer to access shops, restaurants, and other local destinations on foot, LADOT is reaffirming our commitment to building a City that is safe for all.

LADOT to Partner with Automotus to Bring Advanced Curb Analytics to DTLA
LADOT is excited to announce a partnership with Automotus on LADOT’s “Code the Curb” initiative to modernize the City’s curb infrastructure. Made possible through a March 2023 U.S. Department of Transportation SMART grant, the new partnership will help model the impacts of Olympic-scale events and prepare LA for the future of curbside management.
Understanding the curb is the key to managing how people and goods move through Los Angeles. This partnership will provide LADOT with real-time curb analytics and mobility data infrastructure, enabling LADOT to respond dynamically to the needs of residents, businesses, and visitors, especially in preparation for large-scale events. With this detailed data, LADOT will be able to inform policies for loading zones, improve curbside efficiency, and reduce congestion and safety hazards.
Through this partnership, LADOT will be more prepared to understand and manage one of the City’s most valuable resources: our curb space.

Help Metro Name Two D Line Extension Stations
Metro Los Angeles is expanding the D Line to West LA, with two new stations set to open in 2027. As part of this expansion, Metro is asking the community to share thoughts and ideas on legacy names for stations in Westwood and at the VA Hospital.
Station names will reflect the following principles:
- Transit system content: Names will reflect the property's location, relative to the entire transit system, and not duplicate elsewhere.
- Property Area: Provide specific information about the property's location relative to the surrounding area.
- Neighborhood Identity: Acknowledge the communities and neighborhoods services by the station and stops.
- Simplicity: Names will be short, easily recognizable and fit for signage and mapping.
