Los Angeles Receives Mass Donation of COVID-19 Protective Equipment
Last week, the City of Los Angeles announced that AIM Brands LLC — a distributor of COVID-19 solution products such as masks, gloves, sanitizer, tests, and air purifiers — has collaborated with the city and the C19 Coalition to donate 5 million three-ply masks to directly benefit Angelenos as they engage in public activities, with the first distribution installment aiding passengers who utilize LADOT Transit’s transportation systems. LADOT Transit currently offers masks to passengers free of charge when using its transit services.
“Since the outbreak of COVID-19, LADOT Transit has stepped up to provide transportation for medical staff, grocery store clerks, food distribution, and support for sheltering the unhoused,” said LADOT General Manager Seleta Reynolds. “I want to thank the AIM Brands and the C19 Coalition for also stepping up. This donation helps us protect our passengers and employees who are on the frontlines of this pandemic every day.”
In addition to providing free masks for passengers, LADOT Transit continues to practice COVID-19 safety measures on its vehicles, which include plexiglass barriers, backdoor boarding, facial covering requirements, and passenger capacity limits.
LADOT reminds Angelenos to observe safety protocols and wear facial coverings when in public. Additional information regarding the city’s COVID-19 response may be found at corona-virus.la.
