LADOT's Taxi Reform Adopted by LA City Council

This week, the Los Angeles City Council approved LADOT's proposed changes to the city’s taxi permitting system. As adopted, the updated rules will represent the first major changes to LA’s taxi regulations since the 1990’s.

The reforms approved include significant changes to the current taxi system in Los Angeles and were designed to improve competitiveness of taxis as a mode of transportation while maintaining safety and environmental standards as well as a fee structure to support a living wage for drivers.

City Council Transportation Committee approved a life saving proposal by the Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT) to repeal and reduce speed limit increases on dozens of local streets. LOS ANGELES – In celebration of their victory in Superbowl LVI, the City of Los Angeles will host a parade for the Los Angeles Rams on Figueroa St in the University Park neighborhood. Please be advised that most streets in that area will be closed to vehicle traffic from approximately 7AM to 2PM on Wednesday, February 16th. The parade is scheduled to begin at 11AM and proceed for 45 minutes down the route until it reaches the Exposition Park with a rally there scheduled for 12PM.

New Decorative Crosswalk Installed in Wilmington

This weekend the intersection of Figueroa St. and L St closed for approximately 24 hours for the construction of a decorative crosswalk. The crosswalk is a part of a People Street program through which community partners applu for treatments in their neighborhoods.
