In order to promote safety on our streets, LADOT recently advocated for state legislation AB43 which gives cities greater authority and setting speed limits. With its passage, cities like Los Angeles will not have to raise speed limits unless engineering changes have been made on these streets with the express purpose of increasing speed limits.
