Pedestrian Safety Improvements Coming to Pico Union

Yesterday, LADOT joined with Council District 1 and our City partners to celebrate the groundbreaking on the Elden Elms Sustainable Transportation Infrastructure project! Since opening its doors in 2021, Elden Elms has provided much needed affordable housing to the Pico-Union neighborhood. But housing alone is not enough to make a community complete. Electric DASH Buses Arrive in Watts

I’m excited to share an important milestone for the Watts community and for Los Angeles as a whole. Starting this week, LADOT launched the first of ten electric DASH buses that will serve the Watts community. These zero emission buses, along with new AC chargers to support their operation, will deliver cleaner air, quieter streets, and meaningful progress toward the City’s sustainability goals.

Making LA's Streets Safer for Seniors

I’m excited to share that LADOT recently completed safety assessments in five neighborhoods prioritized for our Safe Routes for Seniors pilot program, an initiative created to better understand and support how older Angelenos travel. The department has developed plans and installed initial improvements across these five areas, identified as having a higher proportion of elderly residents: Chinatown, Rancho Park, South LA, Exposition/Crenshaw, and Downtown LA.

LADOT Launches Mobility Action Plan

The way the City of Los Angeles plans and invests in our transportation system has far reaching impacts. Decisions we make today impact the safety of our roads, the long-term health of communities, and the sustainability and resilience of our city as a whole.

That is why LADOT wants to hear your input on how the department should prioritize transportation projects as it develops the Mobility Action Plan (MAP). The MAP builds off the Mobility Plan 2035 to guide how LA invests in streets, transit, biking, and walking for the next 5–20 years....

On November 3, 2025 the Dodgers will celebrate their second consecutive World Series victory with a parade in Downtown Los Angeles. Closures will take effect on streets South of Chinatown and Cesar Chavez, North of 8th Street, West of Spring Street, and East of the I-110 Freeway.
