New Safety Treatments on Vista Del Mar

LADOT is currently at work installing new safety treatments on Vista Del Mar between Imperial Highway and Waterview Street. Nestled between Dockweiler Beach and LAX, this road previously saw a high amount of illegal driving behavior and unsafe crossings. The new safety treatments are designed to curb excessive speeding, prevent illegal U-turns, and prevent illegal parking that leads to unsafe roadway crossings.

Multi-modal Transportation Improvements in the San Fernando Valley

Construction is underway on the Chandler Bike Connection! Once complete, the Chandler Bike Connection will mark a dramatic improvement in active transportation in the Valley–closing the three mile gap between the Chandler and the Metro G Line Bike Paths and creating a 21-mile, continuous, safe, and protected bike route from Burbank to the Sepulveda Basin. Take the Spring/Alameda Community Survey

Spring Street and Alameda Street form a key corridor in Chinatown, connecting residents, commuters, and visitors to Union Station, Los Angeles State Historic Park, the LA Riverway, and more. Today the corridor is also a gap in our transportation network, lacking bicycle infrastructure, pedestrian crossing points, and traffic calming to slow vehicle speeds. As a result, too few people comfortably bike and walk this stretch, and too many crashes here have resulted in injury or even death.

New Crosswalks Coming to a Street Near You

Every year, LADOT installs thousands of safety treatments as part of regular maintenance, safety and mobility projects on major corridors, and neighborhood network improvements. Supporting Boyle Heights Recovery Following the Lineage Warehouse Fire

With recovery efforts underway following the Lineage Warehouse Fire, LADOT continues to provide service and support in Boyle Heights. LADOT Traffic Officers have been on the ground since the start of the fire, supporting road closures to enable firefighters to work and to keep the public safe. Now that cleanup efforts have begun, LADOT will continue to support road closures needed to remove debris and work to minimize the impact of trucks on the surrounding neighborhood.

Reconnecting MacArthur Park Phase 2

Last week, we marked an important milestone for the future of the Westlake community - Phase 2 of the Reconnecting MacArthur Park study! Speed Safety Systems Coming to LA

In the City of Los Angeles, approximately 300 people are killed in car crashes every year, and thousands more suffer serious injuries. LADOT continues to implement safety treatments and redesign roadways to reduce traffic crashes, and is expanding its safety toolbox with 125 speed safety systems that will be installed later this summer.

It is officially summer! Summer in LA means beach days, baseball games, and spending time with friends and family–but it also means rising temperatures.
