Keep an eye out for safer streets and better parking! In the coming months, Angelenos and businesses may notice more street parking in their neighborhood. As directed by the City Council, LADOT is removing peak-hour travel lanes and restoring full-time parking on streets that see a low volume of peak-hour traffic. This will mean fewer roads where residents have to move their car for rush hour every weekday, less circling for parking for visitors, and an overall safer flow of traffic for all.

LADOT is proud to announce that we’ve closed the bike lane gap on Imperial Highway!

Until now, roadway width and the median on Imperial Highway prohibited LADOT from connecting a 1,000 foot gap east of Pershing Dr. This forced bicyclists to choose between riding in vehicle traffic or on the sidewalk, competing with pedestrians for safe infrastructure.

Thanks to a Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) grant, crews were able to modify the median island and widen the road to close the gap with Class II protected bike lanes....

Over the last few weeks, 2,000 participants in Los Angeles County received debit cards pre-loaded with $1,800 that can be used on transportation options that work for them and their families. This grant funded program, made possible by the State of California’s Sustainable Transportation Equity Program, is the largest transit subsidy program nation and can be used to pay for transportation services such as public transit, rideshare, bikes, scooters, and more.

Yesterday, along with Council District 5 and our community partners, LADOT broke ground on the Mid-City Greenway! The Mid-City Neighborhood Greenways project will bring traffic calming measures and safety treatments to create a safe, shared space for pedestrians and cyclists.

The new treatments to be installed on the over four miles of project area on Rosewood Ave, Formose Ave, and Orange Dr include bike boxes, crossworks, and curb extensions and are designed to discourage cut-through commuter traffic on our residential streets....

Deliveries are a part of everyday life in Los Angeles—and now, we’re making them cleaner! Over the last few months, we’ve expanded our Zero Emission Delivery Zones pilot to 30 additional locations, creating designated curbside spots for electric vans, cargo bikes, and other zero-emission delivery vehicles. By incentivizing zero-emission trips, these zones help us build a cleaner, more efficient transportation system and meet our City’s sustainable infrastructure goals.

This week LADOT announced the expansion of the LAnow service to South LA! This microtransit pilot program offers flexible, affordable, on-demand transportation to residents, visitors, and anyone visiting the South LA community. The new service area covers and connects key destinations, services, and neighborhood amenities like LA Trade-Technical College, Exposition Park, BMO Stadium, USC, the South LA Wetlands, Metro’s A and E lines, and 5 neighborhood DASH service routes.
