New Full Traffic Signal Installed In South LA

New Full Traffic Signal Installed In South LA

Last week, LADOT Crews were out on Florence & Raymond to activate a new full traffic signal in South L.A. The location of Florence and Raymond previously had no prior existing traffic signal. Adding the full signal to the intersection will allow for a safer, more efficient flow of traffic for drivers and pedestrians by assigning priorities to various traffic movements..

Full signals take a bit more work because engineers are essentially working from scratch and must work around other existing infrastructure like power poles and utility lines. Once installed, the signal must connect to our main hub via underground wires so that we can include it in our integrated signal system and create a streamlined flow of traffic across the city from our ATSAC center.

Thank you to the engineers, designers, electricians, and neighbors who helped make this possible.

African American Heritage Month Spotlight - CAAM

African American Heritage Month Spotlight - CAAM

African Americans have played an important role in the American West’s cultural, economic, and political development. To better recognize the cultures importance, the California African American Museum in Exposition Park was founded in 1977 and formally opened in 1981. CAAM is the first African American museum of art, history, and culture fully supported by a state. Through various forms of art, historical artifacts, print materials, and media, visitors will learn more about the history and the impact of the African American culture specifically in California and the western United States.

LADOT can help you make the trip! You can take the DASH F route for free and enjoy your visit to the CAAM.

All closures have now been reopened on Mulholland Drive. We want to thank our Traffic Officers and Special Traffic Operations team for their quick response to help close off and maintain safe flow of traffic in the area during the storms and aftermath. We also want to thank the Bureau Of Street Services, the Los Angles Police Department, the Los Angeles Fire Department, and everyone who helped to secure and repair the area.
