LADOT Publishes Bilingual Glossary of Transportation Terms

LADOT is proud to present the first edition of our Bilingual Glossary of Transportation Terms. We know that to better serve our community, accessibility is important. With this first-of-its-kind glossary, our goal is to remove the language barrier that Spanish-speaking communities face when interacting with government agencies. With this new tool, technical terminology will be more accessible to Angelenos allowing them to advocate their needs and ensure we make investments that meet them.

New Traffic Signal Activated in Cypress Park

Last week, we joined Councilwoman Eunisses Hernandez in the Cypress Park neighborhood to celebrate the activation of a new full traffic signal installed on Avenue 37 and Figueroa. Prior to this, the intersection had no traffic control devices in place. Now with the installation of a full traffic signal and crosswalk, residents who walk or bike through the neighborhood can feel secure crossing to access the nearby pocket park, businesses, and Metro stop.

Griffith Park Adult Community Center Open House

Tomorrow, our LADOT transit team will attend the Griffith Park Adult Community Center Open House event by LA Rec & Parks. The GPACC specializes in services for adults and seniors and will have information about all the activities they offer. LADOT Transit will be there discussing the CityRide Program and other city services available. Update on the Latest Venice Boulevard Safety and Mobility Project Progress

We are making progress on the new safety and mobility improvements on Venice Blvd. StreetsLA has repaired and refreshed the pavement on Venice Boulevard, and the LADOT crew is out on the streets to complete the rest of the mobility improvements. Through Spring of 2023, LADOT will be working to upgrade existing bike lanes and crosswalks, and partnering with Metro to add new dedicated bus lanes on Venice Boulevard.
