LADOT Releases New Study on Gender Equity in Transportation

This past Friday, LADOT released a new landmark study, Changing Lanes: A Gender Equity Transportation Study, and announced a new pilot program for “on-demand” stops for its DASH service, which will debut in August for the Panorama City, Watts, Pico-Union, and El Sereno Community DASH routes, and will allow riders to request a location to disembark along their route that is separate from established stop locations.

LADOT Transit Expands DASH Service

This past weekend, LADOT Transit launched service improvements to DASH Route D and Route E in downtown Los Angeles as the next step in the phased implementation of the LADOT New Service Plan (formerly Transit Service Analysis), which follows from the Los Angeles City Council’s adoption of the LADOT New Service Plan in 2018 to identify and prioritize service enhancements, new Community DASH routes, and the LAnow service.

Los Angeles City Council Supports Legislation to Give Cities More Flexibility in Setting Speed Limits

The Los Angeles City Council adopted a resolution last week to support California State Assembly Bill (AB) 43 that would grant municipalities greater control in setting speed limits on city streets. LADOT Installs New Bus-Only Lanes to Support NextGen Plan

Earlier this month, LADOT installed new bus-only lanes on Alvarado Street to improve travel rates and headway consistency for Metro Line 200, a bus route which experiences approximately 12,000 boardings per day.
