The Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT) welcomes the return of operation for LAnow, its on-demand, micro-transit service serving the Del Rey, Venice, Mar Vista and Palms neighborhoods of the City of Los Angeles on Monday, November 1, 2021. The service operates Monday through Friday from 6:00AM to 7:00 PM. Riders can access the service by using the LAnow smartphone application. LADOT Transit is resuming operation of the LAnow program for on-demand, shared-ride, and micro-transit service serving the Del Rey, Venice, Mar Vista, and Palms Neighborhoods of the City of Los Angeles. LAnow carried more than 10,000 riders prior to the suspension of service in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. LADOT Transit used the time during the suspension of service to upgrade and replace its LAnow smartphone application that allows riders to book and pay for trips.

In October 2020, construction began on the $19.5 million Reseda Blvd Complete Streets Project. This multi-agency project will transform Reseda Blvd between Parthenia St and Victory Blvd with pavement rehabilitation and roadway safety improvements, including:

Construction will extend for approximately 28 months, with the first year dedicated to concrete work on curb ramps, sidewalks, and driveways.

In order to promote safety on our streets, LADOT recently advocated for state legislation AB43 which gives cities greater authority and setting speed limits. With its passage, cities like Los Angeles will not have to raise speed limits unless engineering changes have been made on these streets with the express purpose of increasing speed limits. This in turn means cities will be able to regulate their street speeds to accommodate for the existing capacity of these streets, while also helping make streets safer throughout the City. This past Saturday, LADOT hosted a community event on San Vicente Boulevard to share information and gather feedback about the San Vicente Safety & Mobility Project.
